CLINTON, Miss. -- The Delta State University women's basketball team fell to rival Mississippi College 59-50 on Saturday afternoon.
The Lady Statesmen let Mississippi College go on a 14-4 run to start the third quarter and the Lady Choctaws never relinquished the lead. DSU cut the 17-point deficit down to six points, but could not get any closer.
Three Lady Statesmen scored 11 or more points in the win.
Zyaire Ewing had 17 points to lead all scorers. Ewing had her eighth double-double with 17 points and 11 rebounds.
Ke'Vonshaye Stackhouse had 12 points and
T'Kyra Hicks had 11 points.

STATS OF THE GAME:
- Delta State was 16-for-50 from the field for 32 percent shooting. The Lady Statesmen were 1-of-16 in the first quarter.
- DSU held MC to 21-of-57 shooting for 36 percent and 4-of-18 from beyond the arc.
- Mississippi College out-rebounded DSU 40-38 which was the first time since the North Georgia game on Nov. 19 where DSU was out-rebounded.
- Delta State committed 21 turnovers in the loss.
- Both teams had 22 points in the paint and 20 points off of turnovers.
- DSU had seven of the eight players who played score.
- Moriah Hurst and Camryn Davis combined to shoot 1-13 from the field.
