JACKSON, Tenn. -- The Delta State University baseball team scored 11 unanswered runs to storm back from a 5-1 deficit to earn a 12-5 over Union University on Sunday at Fesmire Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Kirkland Trahan got hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to put the Statesmen ahead 1-0 in the top of the third.
- Union answered with three runs in the bottom of the third and two runs in the fourth to take a 5-1 lead.
- Hayden White hit his second home run of the season in the fifth and drove a run home on a sac-fly in the sixth to cut the Union lead to 5-4.
- The Statesmen forged to a 12-5 lead with an eight-run seventh inning highlighted by a pair of two-run home runs by Hayden Cooper and Kirkland Trahan.

- Cooper Brune (1-1) allowed one hit with four strikeouts over 3.1 scoreless innings in relief of DSU starter Hammer Franks to pick up the win.

- Statesmen hurlers recorded 13 strikeouts, posting double-figure strikeouts in a game for the ninth time.
- The 13 strikeouts eclipsed the season-high 12 recorded two times against Southern Indiana and a game one against Union.
- Cooper finished 3-for-5 with a double and a home run to pace DSU's 13-hit attack.
- Cooper finished the three-game series 9-for-14 with 11 RBI, three doubles, and three home runs.
