Lady Statesmen Fall to the Bison of Harding

Cleveland, Miss. – The Delta State University women's basketball team traveled to Searcy, Arkansas for a non-conference matchup with the Bison of Harding University. Sage Hawley of Harding scored the opening basket to give the Bison the Lead. Elisha Wilson scored the first DSU basket at the 6:19 mark in the first quarter. The Bison defense would only allow one more basket in the first quarter. The second quarter would be like the first quarter with the Bison defense controlling the game and only allowing the Green and White to score 12 points in the quarter. Harding would go into the half leading 40-17.

The Green and White would turn up the defensive effort in the third quarter only allowing 13 points in the quarter. DSU would battle back and head into the fourth trailing 53-31. The Lady Statesmen offense would come alive in the fourth quarter, but it would be too late as the Bison would defeat DSU 71-50. Daniels led all scorers in scoring with 18 points in the game.
