CLEVELAND, Miss. – The Delta State University women's basketball team matched up with the Lady Flames of Lee University on Saturday afternoon.
Ginny Higginbotham set the tone for the Lady Statesmen with a three-pointer to start the scoring. The first quarter was a tight contest with the Lady Flames making a layup at the end to take a 14-13 lead. The second quarter was much like the first quarter, but the flames extended their lead to six at halftime.
Shanell Kitchens started the second half started by hitting a three-pointer for the Green and White. The Lady Statesmen entered the fourth quarter trailing by four. The Green and White tied the game up at 43 after trailing by eleven, but the Flames would end up pulling away down the stretch.
Camryn Davis lead all scorers in the game with 18 points and 5 rebounds.
