Box Score Cleveland, Miss. – The Delta State University women's basketball team matched up with the Lady Choctaws of Mississippi College this Saturday, February 18.
Camryn Davis set the tone for the Lady Statesmen with a layup to start the scoring. The first quarter was a tight contest with the Lady Choctaws making a layup at the 7:33 min mark to tie at 6-6 before the Lady Statesmen scored eight unanswered points. In the second quarter the Green and White would outscore the Lady Choctaws taking a 27-19 lead heading into the half.
Davis started the second half started by hitting a layup for the Green and White. The Lady Statesmen entered the fourth quarter up by four. In the fourth, the Lady Choctaws chipped away at the lead before the Lady Statesmen scored 19 points.
Camryn Davis led all scorers in the game with 14 points and 11 rebounds.
Tonight's win and a Christian Brothers loss helped the Lady Statemen clinch their berth into the GSC Conference Championship starting on Feb 28th time and location is TBA.
