CARROLLTON, Ga. – The Lady Statesmen needed a win Saturday to secure the five-seed in next week's GSC tournament, but the loss to West Georgia moved DSU down to seventh place. West Georgia played with their postseason lives on the line, and showed it as they outscored Delta State 20-9 in the final quarter.
MaKenzie Hill led DSU with 14 points on 5-of-10 shooting with 2 three-point makes. She also recorded 2 rebounds and 3 assists.
Grace Watson was the only other Lady Statesmen in double figures with 11 points. She also racked up 5 rebounds and 2 blocks against the Wolves
