CLEVELAND, Miss. – The Delta State University Men's Basketball team hosted Valdosta State University for a home GSC match-up on Thursday night. The Blazers scored 35 points in the first half while Delta State matched this, also scoring 35 points.
Delta State shot 41.4 percent in the half, while hitting 6 three-pointers. The Green and White shot 38.7 percent in the second half compared to Valdosta State's 72.9 percent.
The Blazers made the most of their shooting advantage, outscoring the Statesmen 43-36 in the second half to secure the win. The Statesmen fall to Valdosta State 78-71.
Chris Terrell led all scorers with 25 points on 9-of-16 shooting. He hit 4 three-pointers and recorded 7 rebounds and 2 assists.
Keithean Brooks also reached double-digits with 12 points to go with 4 rebounds and 2 assists.
Caleb Allen made 3 three-pointers to score 9 points with a rebound and an assist.
