Cleveland, Miss. – The Delta State University Women's Basketball team hosted the Lady Flames of Lee University for a GSC matchup. The Lady Flames started the game pressing causing DSU trouble in the first quarter allowing only nine points. In the second quarter, both teams struggled to score with neither team scoring double-digit points. The Lady Statesmen's offense exploded for 24 points in the third quarter. Entering the fourth quarter Lee still maintained a 41-40 into the fourth quarter, but the DSU defense only allowed them to score nine points in the quarter.
Elishia Wilson hit the game-winner as time expired. The Lady Statesmen defeated the Lady Flames 52-50. This was the Lady Statesmen's first home victory over the Lady Flames since the 2018-19 season.
