CLEVELAND, Miss. – The Delta State University men's basketball team (3-1, 0-0 GSC) will travel to Arkadelphia, Ark., Thursday night to take on the Tigers from Ouachita Baptist University at 7:00 p.m., (CDT).

The Statesmen enter this matchup after suffering their first loss of the season at home Sunday afternoon against Kentucky Wesleyan University.
Scouting the Statesmen
- Delta State enters the week with a 3-1 overall record and a 2-0 record on the road to kick off the 2024-2025 season. The Statesmen suffered their first loss to Kentucky Wesleyan 86-66 Sunday afternoon at Walter Sillers Coliseum.
- Senior point guard Chris Terrell led the Statesmen, scoring the second most points in a game in his Delta State career with 29. The Horn Lake Native enters this mid-week battle averaging 16.8 points per game, while dishing out 5.5 assists per game and currently has 3.3 steals per game.
- Senior guard Keithean Brooks leads all Statesmen scorers averaging 18.8 points per game. Brooks had 12 points in the loss vs. Kentucky Wesleyan last Sunday. Delta State has two more players averaging double digits in scoring in junior transfer Jesse Washington, and junior guard Kolby Horace. Scouting the Tigers
- Ouachita Baptist enters Thursday's matchup with a 2-1 overall record and a week of rest after defeating NAIA opponent in Dallas Christian 95-70. The Tigers lone loss of the season came in their season opener against Rogers State 85-70.
- The Tigers have two players averaging more than 20 points per game in graduate transfer Shaun Williams and junior Forward Hobert Grayson. Williams averages 22 points per game after consistently scoring 22 points in the first three games for OBU. The St. Louis native has shot the ball well from beyond the arch with a 52.6 3 point field goal percentage.
- Hobert has been the force in the front court for the Tigers. The Gonzales, La., native averages a double-double so far this season as he averages 20. 3 points per game and pulls down an average of 12.3 rebounds per game. Against Dallas Christian, Hobert scored a season high 26 points and grabbed 18 rebounds earning him the GAC Player of the Week.
