CLEVELAND, Miss. – The Delta State University women's basketball team (3-2, 0-0 GSC) will wrap up their non-conference schedule Tuesday afternoon as they host the Lady Bisons from Harding University (3-1, 0-0 GAC) at Walter Sillers Coliseum.
The Voice of the Statesmen Michael Gross will have the call on the Statesmen Sports Network as well as the Flo College network. Tomorrow's double header with the men's basketball team is campus appreciation game where we will be recognizing the faculty and staff at Delta State.
Scouting the Lady Statesmen
- The Lady Statesmen are currently 3-2 on the season as they snapped a two-game skid last Friday on the road at Southern Arkansas as Grace Watson knocked down a game winning jumper to give the Lady Statesmen a 42-41 victory.
- Watson leads the Lady Statesmen front court on the offensive end. The Hazel Green, Ala., native currently averages a double-double as she is scoring 11.2 points per game and pulling down 11.4 rebounds per game. Watson scored 12 points and grabbed seven rebounds in the Lady Statesmen's win at Southern Arkansas.
- In the win at Southern Arkansas, Olivia Allen was the other Delta State player to score double digits for the Green and White. The Henderson State transfer scored 10 points coming off the bench against her former conference foe.
Scouting the Lady Bisons
- Harding enters this mid-week battle with a 3-1 record and is currently on a two-game winning streak after defeating Central Oklahoma last Thursday in Searcy 84-56.
- Senior guard Aubrey Isbell led Harding with 20 points in the win over the Bronchos. Isbell has had two straight games with 20 or more points.
- Sage Hawley leads Harding averaging 22.5 points per game and pulls down an average 8.3 rebounds per game. Hawley had a 16 point 10 rebound double-double in the win against Central Oklahoma.
