Cleveland, Miss. – The Delta State University Women's Basketball team traveled to Rome, Georgia for a GSC matchup with the Hawks of Shorter. The Lady Statesmen scored 17 points in the first quarter to lead the Hawks 17-16 at the end of the first quarter. In the second quarter, DSU turned up the defensive pressure allowing only eight points in the quarter while scoring 13 points to extend their lead 30-24 at the half. The Shorter offense exploded in the third quarter scoring 16 points while The Green and White offense struggled scoring 11 points in the third quarter. The fourth quarter would be a back-and-forth contest between the teams with the Lady Statesmen winning 56-51 to extend their winning streak to three games.
Grace Watson led the team with 16 points.
