Huntsville, Ala. – The Lady Statesmen cross country team of Delta State University showcased their talent at the Southern Showcase, held on Friday, September 12, with a 45
th place finish.
Competing against a strong field of mostly Division I athletes, the Lady Statesmen delivered a good performance finishing in 45th place out of 49 teams, earning 1374 points.
Emma Haley led the way finishing 369th, with a time of 22:33.15.
"This race was huge with around 500 runners, spanning SEC and other top D1 programs. The girls are seeing the best of the best, and I'm pleased with our effort. We aren't where we want to be, but we are getting better every day," said Coach Britnee Smith.
