CLEVELAND, Miss. – The Delta State University Men's Basketball Team (7-10, 3-8 GSC) defeated the Choctaws of Mississippi College (6-11, 2-9 GSC) 62-54 in a physical GSC contest on Lloyd Clark Court in Walter Sillers Coliseum Saturday afternoon.

Delta State and MC started slow with the Statesmen pulling ahead to a 14-8 lead with 10:53 to go in the opening half behind six points from Terrell. Terrell led all Statesmen scorers with 20 points.
The green and white would finish the half strong, taking a 31-22 lead behind the trio of Terrell,
Keithean Brooks and
Kolby Horace. Horace scored 18 points, shooting 4-11 from beyond the arch, while Brooks scored 11 points.
In the first 10 minutes of the second half, MC would jump out on a 21-8 run to take a 42-39 lead.
After exchanging leads from the 10-minute mark to the five-minute mark, Delta State would respond with two big threes from
Jesse Washington with under five minutes remaining in regulation.
The Statesmen would pull ahead to an eight-point lead to snap the six-game losing streak with a 62-54 win in front of the home crowd.
The Statesmen are back in Sillers on Thursday evening as they will host the Buccaneers from Christian Brothers University at 7:30 p.m., (CDT).
