Cleveland, Miss. – The Delta State University Women's basketball team will start their 2025-26 season on the road as they take on the Golden Bears of Miles College. This game will tip off Friday, November 14^th, at 5:30 PM at the Knox-Windham Gymnasium in Fairfield, Ala.

Scouting the Lady Statesmen:

• The Lady Statesmen knocked off the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns last Friday in an away exhibition match by a score of 76-68
• Alyse Holliman had an exceptional game against Louisiana with 17 points and 16 rebounds. She cleaned the glass with 9 offensive rebounds.
• Jariyah Williamson and Bramyia Johnson had stellar Delta State Debuts in the win over Louisiana. Williamson attacked the rim with 16 points and nine rebounds and had three steals. Johnson led all scorers with 19 points off the bench and was a rebound away from recording a double-double.
• The Lady Statesmen dominated the boards, out rebounding the Ragin' Cajuns 53 to 34.

Scouting the Golden Bears:

• The Golden Bears have a preseason rank of number 1 in the west of the SIAC conference
• Junior forward Makayla Rieves was selected on the preseason third team all-SIAC selection
• The purple and gold as a team last season averaged 63.9 points and 42.2 rebounds per game
