CLEVELAND, Miss. – The Delta State University Women's Basketball Team (1-1, 0-0 GSC) look to continue to build momentum after their win over Southern Arkansas with a home game against the Cotton Blossoms from the University of Arkansas Monticello tomorrow afternoon at 2:00 p.m. in Walter Sillers Coliseum.

Scouting the Lady Statesmen
- Delta State enters this weekend with a 1-1 overall record after winning their home opener against Southern Arkansas 56-52 Monday afternoon in front of a packed crowd on Kids' Day in Walter Sillers Coliseum.
- Sophomore guard Jariyah Williamson has been a huge impact for the Green and White early on this season. The Henderson, Tenn., native led all scorers averaging 15.5 points. Williamson also added nine rebounds and two assists. Against SAU, Williamson led the way with 16 points and eight rebounds and three assists along with three steals.
- Sophomore guard Daniela Gintere made a big splash off the bench in the win against Southern Arkansas. The Latvia native scored 12 points as she shot 2-3 from beyond the arch.
- Senior forward Dakiya Toney and senior guard Olivia Allen made an impact late in the win vs. SAU. Toney came up with a big block after Allen knocked down a three with 15 seconds left to give DSU a lead over the Muleriders.
Scouting the Cotton Blossoms
- Arkansas Monticello is off to a 4-0 start and is playing their third game this week after defeating NAIA opponents Arkansas Baptist (66-52) and Crowley's Ridge (73-24). The Cotton Blossoms also defeated MIAA opponents Arkansas Fort Smith (60-45) and Newman (61-54).
- The Blossoms have a two headed monster in Alindsey Long and Alyssa Batton. Long leads all scorers averaging 16 points per game and two assists per game while shooting 45.5% from beyond the arch. Batton averages 13.3 points per game and 4.8 rebounds per game while also shooting above 40% from beyond the arch.
- The Cotton Blossoms enter this game currently on a five-game winning streak dating back to March 1st of last season when they defeated the Tigers from Ouachita Baptist 79-78 in their season finale.
