Lady Statesmen travel to Arkansas for final non-conference game with No. 10 Harding.

CLEVELAND, Miss. – The Delta State University Women's Basketball Team will hit the road this weekend for their final non-conference game against top ten ranked Harding University. The game will tip-off tomorrow afternoon at 5:30 p.m. (CT) in Rhodes-Reaves Field House.
 
The Voice of the Statesmen Michael Gross will have the call on the Statesmen Sports Network with the pre-game show starting at 5:00 p.m.
 
Scouting the Lady Statesmen
  • Delta State enters this weekend with a 2-2 overall record after falling in a high scoring affair Tuesday afternoon against Arkansas Tech 77-75 in Russellville.
  • The Lady Statesmen had three players in double digits highlighted by a near double-double performance from senior forward Dakiya Toney.  The Lake Village native scored 14 points and grabbed a team high nine rebounds and shot 7-13 from the field. Junior guard Madi Kate Vuncannon caught fire from beyond the arch. Vuncannon scored 15 points shooting 5-11 from beyond the arch.
  • Sophomore guards Jariyah Williamson and Daniela Gintere have provided a spark for the green and white. Williamson leads all scorers averaging 13 points per game while pulling down six rebounds per game. Gintere has scored double digits in two of the past three games for the Lady Statesmen. Gintere scored 11 points Tuesday evening in Russellville.
Scouting the Lady Bisons
  • Harding has entered this weekend with a 5-0 overall record and is ranked no. 10 in the Women's Basketball Coaches' Association Poll. Last time out, Harding defeated Central Oklahoma 61-51 Monday evening in Edmond, Okla.
  • The Lady Bisons have four players averaging double-digits in the scoring column led by junior guard Josie Williams. Williams currently averages 13.4 points per game and is currently shooting 50% from the field on the season.
  • Last time out, HU defeated Central Oklahoma on the road in a regional contest 61-51. In the win, Harding was led by freshman center Kennedy Stout who scored 18 points, grabbed seven rebounds and blocked five shots. Harding made things difficult for the Bronchos as they shot 30% from the field.
