CLEVELAND, Miss. - The Delta State University Women's Basketball Team (4-3, 2-0 GSC) will travel to Alabama this weekend to play two conference games against the University of Montevallo and Auburn University at Montgomery.
Starting the weekend on Thursday, the Lady Statesmen will travel to Montevallo to face the Falcons (1-5, 0-2 GSC) at 5:30 PM. Following the Thursday, DSU will travel to Montgomery will tip-off against the Warhawks of Auburn-Montgomery (0-8, 0-2 GSC) Sunday afternoon at 2:00 PM.

Scouting the Lady Statesmen:
- The Lady Statesmen enter conference week 2 with lots of confidence, coming from two victories in the opening weekend of GSC play against no.22 Union and Christian Brothers.
- Olivia Allen and Jariyah Williamson are both averaging over 10 PPG. Allen had a tremendous weekend at home as she averaged 16 points per game, leading the Green and White to a 2-0 start in conference play. Allen had five steals in the 56-48 win against Christian Brothers.
- Madi Kate Vuncannon leads in 3PT made, with 16 on the season. The Tiplersville native is fifth in the GSC averaging 2.3 three-point field goals per game. The Lady Statesmen as a whole, lead the Gulf South Conference shooting 35.4 percent from beyond the arch this season.
- Senior forward Dakiya Toney has been a force in the front court for the Green and White. The Lake Village native leads Delta State and is third in the Gulf South Conference averaging 8.3 rebounds per game after recording her second double-double of the season with a 12 point per
Scouting the Falcons:
- Montevallo is seeking their first conference win of the year, after dropping two games in GSC opening week on the road at Lee and Trevecca Nazarene.
- Elyse Hughes leads the Falcons in points and rebounds, averaging 11.3 PPG and 6.5 RPG.
- Emily Mouser leads in three-point field goals made and assists, with 10 3PT made and 18 assists. Mouser earned GSC Freshman of the week this week after averaging 13.5 points per game seven rebounds and 3.5 assists.
Scouting the Warhawks:
- AUM is seeking their first win and conference win entering this weekend with an 0-8 overall record and an 0-2 record in conference play.
- Samya Brooks leads the Warhawks in points and is seventh in the Gulf South Conference averaging 14 PPG. Brooks led the Warhawks with 20 points while shooting 50% from the field in AUM's 79-56 loss to Lee last Saturday in Cleveland, Tenn.
- Neveah Small leads in rebounds with 70, averaging 6.3 rebounds per contest. Against Trevecca, Small had eight points and eight rebounds in a tight 62-61 loss to TNU.
