BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Delta State University Men's Basketball senior guard
Keithean Brooks earned the Gulf South Conference Player of The Week announced by the conference office this morning.
Brooks averaged 26 points per game, shooting 18-23 from the field and 5-8 from beyond the arch in the two-game road trip last week as the Statesmen defeated No. 6 Valdosta State 96-92 and West Florida 89-86. Against the Blazers, Brooks led all Statesmen scorers with 24 points with four assists and four rebounds while shooting 81% from the field.
Brooks followed up his performance against Valdosta State with scoring 28 points, dishing out six assists, and five steals shooting 9-12 from the field.
Brooks enters this week nine points away from scoring 1,000 points as a Statesmen in two seasons.
Delta State will be back in action this Thursday on Lloyd Clark Court in Walter Sillers Coliseum as they host the Flames of Lee University. The tip off time is set for 7:30 p.m. (CDT).
