CLEVELAND, Miss. – The Delta State University Softball Team (9-8, 5-6 GSC) are back in University Field this weekend for a three-game series with the Lady Blazers from Valdosta State University. (11-11, 7-4 GSC).
The Two will face off in a double header starting at 1:00 p.m., (CDT) Friday afternoon and will follow that up with a single game on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. (CDT)
The game will be streamed live on the Flo College network.
Scouting the Lady Statesmen
- Delta State returns to University game after six straight games on the road holding a 9-8 overall record and a 5-6 record in GSC play. Last weekend the Lady Statesmen went 1-2 on the road against Christian Brothers.
- At the plate, senior second baseman Emma Collier has had a solid start to her senior season. The Golconda, Ill., native holds a .426 batting average with eight runs driven in.
- In the circle, the duo of Ellie Cox and Emma Enderud have seen a lot of action for DSU. Cox holds a 2-1 record in 10 appearances and seven starts with 19 strikeouts and an ERA of 2.63. Enderud holds a 1-2 record in 44 innings pitched with an ERA of 3.50 and 32 strikeouts.
Scouting the Blazers
- Valdosta State enters this weekend winners of four straight games holding an 11-11 overall record and a 7-4 record in GSC play. Last weekend the Lady Blazers swept the no. 24 ranked Tigers from West Alabama in Valdosta.
- At the plate, VSU is led by senior infielder Aniston Gano. Gano holds a .471 overall record with five home runs and 21 runs driven in. Valdosta State leads the GSC with 27 home runs as a team this season.
- In the circle, the Lady Blazers have relied on graduate transfer Claire Maulding. The Casey, Ill., native has appeared in 16 games with 13 starts. Maulding holds a 9-6 overall record with an ERA of 2.74 and 87 strikeouts.
