Box Score CLEVELAND, Miss. – The Delta State University Softball Team (9-11, 5-9 GSC) lost to the Blazers from Valdosta State University (14-11, 10-4 GSC) 3-2 on a windy Sunday afternoon at University Field.
 
The Lady Statesmen would collect nine hits including two-hit games from Kyleigh Wheaton and Ally Agner.
 
Emma Enderud would pitch five innings in relief, striking out four Blazers and only allowing two hits.
 
The Blazers would strike first with a run in the first and third innings to make it 2-0.
 
Delta State would rally back in the bottom of the fifth with a two-out rbi single from Wheaton to bring home Ragsdale to make it 2-1. Two batters later, Emma Collier would tie it up at 2-2 with a single to left field.
 
Valdosta State would add an insurance run in the top of the seventh with a home run to win it 3-2.
 
The Lady Statesmen hit the road this week for a mid-week non-conference double header Tuesday afternoon against the Cotton Blossoms from the University of Arkansas at Monticello. The first pitch on Tuesday will be at 2:00 p.m. (CDT).
