Lady Statesmen Set for Weekend Series at Christian Brothers

CLEVELAND, Miss. – The Delta State University Softball Team (8-6, 4-4 GSC) hits the road this weekend as they will face the Lady Bucs from Christian Brothers University (6-12, 0-9 GSC) at Bland Field.

The two teams will start the three-game series at 2:00 p.m. (CDT) Friday afternoon followed by a double header Saturday at noon to finish the series.

Scouting the Lady Statesmen

Delta State is off to a good start to their 2025 campaign holding a 8-6 overall record and a 4-4 record in GSC play. Historically against CBU, the Lady Statesmen hold a 39-13 record dating back to 2009 where the green and white swept CBU in a four-game series.
At the plate, senior second baseman Emma Collier is off to a great start for the green and white. The Golconda, Ill., native is hitting .415 with seven extra base hits and eight rbis.
In the circle, Delta State has got solid production out of the trio of Ellie Cox, Emma Enderud, and Averi Bridgman. Cox holds a 1-1 record with an ERA of 2.96, while striking out 18 batters in eight appearances this season. Enderud has seen the most action for the Lady Statesmen this season. The Oxford, Kan., native has a 1-1 overall record with 25 punchouts along with a complete game and a save. Bridgman holds a 3-1 record for the green and white with a save, all in relief for Delta State in eight appearances.

Scouting the Lady Bucs

The Lady Bucs from Christian Brothers University enter this weekend with a 6-12 overall record and an 0-9 record in GSC play. CBU is currently on an 11-game losing streak after getting swept in Livingston against West Alabama.
In the circle, CBU relies on senior Gabby Dickerson. The Olive Branch native holds a 3-5 record with an ERA of 3.00 while striking out 34 hitters in 39 innings pitched so far this season.
At the plate, freshman Ashley Williamson is off to good start to her collegiate career in Memphis. The Milan, Tenn., native holds a .370 batting average with five doubles, four triples and has caused havoc on the base paths with five stolen bases on eight attempts.
