BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Delta State University Men's Tennis senior Hector Ortiz has earned second team All-Gulf South Conference honors announced this afternoon by the conference office.
 
Ortiz was one of 16 student athletes selected by the conference's head coaches.
 
Ortiz is the first Statesmen to earn All-GSC honors since current Graduate Assistant Coach Emiliano Elizarraraz earned second team honors in 2023.
 
Ortiz joined the Statesmen program as a graduate transfer from the University of Pikeville this season. The Buenos Aires, Argentina native posted a 9-5 overall record as the no. 1 singles player in the Statesmen lineup.
