CLEVELAND, Miss. – The Delta State University Softball Team (12-32, 5-23 GSC) will hit the road this weekend as they travel to Clinton to take on the Choctaws from Mississippi College (31-15, 19-11 GSC) in the final three-game series of the 2025 season.
DSU and MC will start the three-game series tomorrow afternoon with a double header starting at 3:00 p.m. (CDT). The two teams will finish the series up on Saturday with a single game at 1:00 p.m. (CDT).
Scouting the Lady Statesmen
- Delta State enters the weekend with a 12-32 overall record and a 5-23 record in conference play. The Lady Statesmen look to snap a six-game losing streak after dropping a non-conference double header against Henderson State
- At the plate, senior outfielder Abbi Cataldo had a multi-hit afternoon for the Lady Statesmen on Tuesday. The Altoona, Iowa native drove in two runs in the double header in Arkadelphia. Kyleigh Wheaton enters the weekend leading the team with a .316 batting average with 43 hits, three doubles, three triples and two home runs.
- In the circle, senior southpaw Emma Enderud has been the game starter for the green and white. The Oxford, Kan., native has a team high 34 appearances with 23 starts where she has pitched 126.1 innings and has struck out 88 batters this season.
Scouting the Choctaws
- Mississippi College enters this weekend with a 31-15 overall record and a 19-11 record in GSC Play. Last Weekend, MC lost two of three to West Florida in Pensacola.
- At the plate, MC has a mix of speed and power from Shelby Samples and Blakely Gill. Samples leads the team with a .430 batting average with 18 stolen bases this season. Gill leads MC with 38 RBIs on the season and 24 extra base hits
- In the circle, the Lady Statesmen will se a mix of Camryn Bailey and Madison Jenkins. Bailey holds a 13-6 record with a 2.09 ERA and 130 strikeouts. Jenkins has a 12-4 record with a 2.71 ERA, and 95 strikeouts.
