CLEVELAND, Miss. – Over 50 student-athletes were recognized at Delta State University's Spring Commencement on Friday, May 9 at Sillers Coliseum.
"Celebrating these graduates underscores our emphasis on the student-athlete balance," said
Dana George, Senior Executive Associate A.D. for Compliance, Academics, and Internal Operations/SWA. "We are so proud of our Statesmen and Lady Statesmen for working diligently in the classroom and in their sports. We're sure their time as student-athletes at Delta State will serve them well in their next chapters."
Graduate Spotlights
Meredith Rice (swim & dive) | Canton, Ga.
Meredith will be participating in a 9-month internship working with dolphins in Greece
Brendan McCauley (baseball) | Gulfport, Miss.
Brendan plans to attend lineman school.
Jae'lasha Julien (women's soccer) | Laplace, La.
Jae'lasha plans to further her education to become a physical therapist.
Jakob Brougham (swim & dive) | St. Augustine, Fla.
Jakob will be pursuing a career in molecular diagnostics.
Jaelon Brown (football) | Montgomery, Ala.
Jaelon will continue working as an insurance agent.
Taylor Klosterman (women's soccer) | Niceville, Fla.
Taylor will be attending Auburn University for medical school.
