Cleveland, Miss. - The Delta State University Men's Soccer team (0-1-1, 0-0-0 GSC) will play two matches this weekend. The Statesmen will start with an away match against the Wildcats of Louisiana Christian University tomorrow evening in Pineville, La., at 5:00 p.m.
After tomorrow match at LCU, Delta State will return to Delta Field for a non-conference match against Mississippi College this Sunday at 3:30 p.m.
Fans can Watch Friday's match up on the Wildcats Sports Network. Sunday's match up will be on the Flo College Network.
Scouting the Statesmen:
- The Statesmen enter this weekend with a 0-1-1 record after tying Texas A&M International this past Saturday 2-2.
- Alfie Lally leads the Statesmen with three points after scoring a goal and an assist last weekend. Ajay Stewart scored two points last weekend with one goal against TAMIU
- Daniel Santema and Mason Baglio have both played one game each at goalkeeper. Santema logged six saves while Baglio logged three saves.
Scouting the Wildcats:
- The Wildcats come into this game with a 1-1-0 overall record after a win against Blue Mountain Christian with a score of 1-0
- Aran Vivar leads the Wildcats with two points, with one goal to win against Blue Mountain. Duarte Mendes has one point with an assist to Vivar
- Juan Diego Ramirez played all 90 minutes guarding the goal for the Wildcats with one save
Scouting the Choctaws:
- The Choctaws will enter the weekend with a 0-0-2 record, with two ties against Texas A&M International and St. Edwards University. The Choctaws will face off against Lynn tomorrow afternoon at 2 p.m.
- Sergio Garrido leads the Choctaws in points with five, with three assists and one goal scored in the two matches.
- Cole Turner has played both games, logging 180 minutes and with five saves as a goalkeeper for the Choctaws.
