BLUE MOUNTAIN, Miss. - Delta State University's women's cross country team turned in a solid performance at the Topper Trails Classic, placing fourth overall against a competitive field.
Maeve Lavoy led the Lady Statesmen with a 22:29.56 finish, securing 17th place individually. Caroline McAlpin followed closely, clocking 22:52.24 for 20th overall, while Kayla Lofton crossed in 23:15.60 to take 25th. Mackenzie Mercer (23:20.46, 27th), Lindsey Hogue (23:33.60, 28th), and Emma Haley (23:45.30, 32nd) rounded out the Delta State lineup.
As a team, Delta State finished with a total score of 111 points and an average time of 23:06, continuing to show progress early in the season. The Lady Statesmen will look to build on this performance, as they prepare for their next meet hosted by Belhaven University in Clinton on Saturday, Oct. 4.
