Cleveland, Miss. - The Delta State University Statesmen Men's Basketball Team (8-11, 5-9 GSC) will hit the road for two conference away games this weekend in the state of Alabama.
On Thursday, the Statesmen travel to Huntsville, Alabama to face the Chargers of UAH (14-7, 9-6 GSC) at 7:30 P.M. The Statesmen will then travel to Livingston, Alabama to face the Tigers of West Alabama (18-3, 13-2 GSC) at 4:00 P.M.
The Voice of the Statesmen Michael Gross will have the call on the Statesmen Sports Radio Network with the pregame show starting approximately 15 minutes before tipoff

The Statesmen have three players averaging double-digit scoring on the season. Redshirt junior guard Dacory Porter leads all scorers heading into the weekend, averaging 15.9 points per game. Last time out, Porter scored a team high of 16 points last Saturday against the Falcons.

Bryce Clayton enters this weekend as the Statesmen's second scoring option this season. The Naples, Fla., native averages 13 points per game along with 3 3-pointers made per game, with 56 total three-point field goals made this season. Against AUM Thursday night, Clayton had a game-high 21 points and his season-high eight rebounds. Overall, Clayton is sixth in the GSC in three-point field goal percentage as he is shooting 38.8% from beyond the arch.

With Senior forward Je'Marion Westbrook out last week, junior forward Jackson Twombly stepped up for the Statesmen as a starter in the past few games. The Frankfurt, Kentucky, native averaged 10.5 points per game in last week's two-game home stretch.

UAH enters this weekend as one of the top scoring offensive attacks in the Gulf South Conference. As a team, the Chargers average 83.8 points per game, which is third behind West Florida and Valdosta State.
