Cleveland, Miss. - The Delta State University softball team (12-23, 6-12 GSC) will host the University of Montevallo Falcons (30-6, 13-5 GSC) for a Gulf South Conference weekend series.  

Game one will be played on Thursday at 5:00 PM on University Field. Games two and three will be played in a double header on Friday starting at 12:00 noon. 

Scouting the Lady Statesmen: 

• Kyleigh Wheaton leads the Lady Statesmen at the plate. She is hitting .416 with 35 RBIs on nine homeruns. 

• Carly Dunnigan has also been a big bat for Delta State. She is hitting .366 with 27 RBIs on nine doubles and six homeruns. 

• Maeve Lavoy has been effective in the circle this season. She posts a 4.73 ERA on 84.1 innings pitched, while striking out 67. 

Scouting the Falcons: 

• Montevallo enters this weekend ranked 20th in the National Fastpitch Coaches' Association Poll and are on a nine-game win streak, including a sweep over Lee and Valdosta State. 

• Becca Benton has driven in 37 runs this season. She is hitting .365 with eight doubles and 12 home runs. 

• Taylor Rogers is a speed threat in the Falcons' order. She is hitting .425 with 14 extra base hits, and a perfect 34-34 on stolen bases.
