Delta State University senior All-American forward Veronica Walker grabbed her second GoStatesmen Female Student-Athlete of the Week Award after being named Gulf South Conference Player of the Week on Wednesday, Jan. 18.  Walker led the Lady Statesmen (9-4, 3-1 GSC) to two wins during the past week with victories over West Georgia (64-40) and West Alabama (64-44).   

Delta State ran its win streak to three games thanks, in part, to the efforts of the senior All-American who averaged 19.5 points, 11.5 rebounds and two assists in wins over West Georgia and West Alabama. She had double-doubles in both games, giving her a league-high seven on the season, and moved into sixth all-time in the GSC in career scoring with 1,916 points.

Walker currently leads the GSC in points per game (19.3) and rebounds (9.3) while currently second in field goal percentage (.546) and minutes played (34.4).
