Terry Leake, Jr., a senior forward on the Statesmen Basketball team, has been named the GoStatesmen.com Male Student-Athlete of the Week for the period ending Sunday, Jan. 27.  It's Leake, Jr.'s second honor this season after helping the Delta State men's basketball team to a split last week in Gulf South Conference play at West Florida and Valdosta State.  

The Memphis, Tenn., native scored 21 points and grabbed a career-high 16 rebounds in a 60-54 loss at Valdosta State on Saturday, but contributed eight points and four rebounds, despite heavy foul trouble, in DSU's 60-54 win at West Florida last Thursday.  

Leake, Jr., leads the Statesmen in scoring and rebounding this season, averaging 18.5 points and 10.0 rebounds per game.  

The Statesmen will return to the court on Saturday, Feb. 2 at Christian Brothers University.  Tipoff is set for 4 p.m. at Canale Arena in Memphis, Tenn.  The Statesmen Sports Network will offer complete coverage.
