Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 ARKADELPHIA, Ark.Ashleigh Allgood held the Missouri S&T Miners to only one run in a complete game effort to help the Delta State University Lady Statesmen salvage a split on day three of the HSU-OBU Classic on Sunday.

After the 9 a.m. contest with Rockhurst University was canceled, the Lady Statesmen (3-3) were forced to take on the Henderson State University Lady Reddies for the third time in three days.

Game two featured a much more low scoring affair, as the Lady Statesmen used timely hitting and solid pitching to defeat Missouri S&T (0-3) 3-1.

HSU (4-3) used a Katey Gorsage grand slam in the top of the first inning to push across four of the nine runs. The Lady Statesmen also had two errors in the inning to help the Lady Reddies.

DSU bounced back with a two run home run in the bottom half of the inning by first baseman Marisa Sanders

Trailing 12-9 in the bottom of the sixth, DSU loaded the bases with one out, but HSU relief pitcher Kasey Carlock stuck out Bre Goley and Maggie Jackson to end the threat.

Sarah Gipson's RBI double in the top of the seventh gave HSU another insurance run to close the scoring.

Hebert (0-1) took the loss, as she allowed six runs on four hits in 0.1 innings of work. Sara Davis pitched the final 6.2 innings of relief and allowed seven runs, three earned on 12 hits.

Allgood also had a pair of RBI's in the loss for DSU.

Missouri S&T starting pitcher Taylor Keal held DSU scoreless until the fourth inning when catcher Kaylea Smith's errant throw to first on a failed double play attempt allowed Raina Stiffler to score from second.

The Miners answered in the top half of the next inning with a two out RBI by Kate Runyan plated Kasilda Miller.

DSU took the lead for good in the bottom of the inning when Jordan Cole used heads up base running to score from third on a groundout by Allgood.
