Game one featured the Mountain Lions of Young Harris College and Delta State. The string of hits in the bottom of the third put the Green-and-White up 9-2 over the Mountain Lions. Young Harris tacked on another run in the fourth and two more in the fifth before the Lady Statesmen put the game away with a double from Holland, and two two-RBI singles from Cutts and Ellen Tarant to take claim the 13-5 win in the form of the mercy rule, Delta State's second mercy rule victory of the season.

Game two of the afternoon was between the Lady Statesmen and a tough Trevecca Nazarene team. The Trojans took advantage of a Delta State error in the bottom of the second to take the 1-0 lead after two complete innings. Trevecca added another run the next inning to extend their advantage over DSU to 2-0.  The Lady Statesmen had a hard time getting something started at the plate until the top of the sixth when freshman Madison Zoeller dropped a double in the gap in left center field, her first collegiate hit, scoring Andrea Cutts, Brook Cline, and Amber Adcock to take the 3-2 lead over the Trojans. The Green-and-White extended their lead in the top frame of the seventh with hits from Kaitlin Moore and Amber Adcock. The Trojans fought back in the bottom of the seventh by scoring three runs to take the 5-4 win.

The Lady Statesmen scored all their runs in the sixth inning but the late rally by the Trojans, the 2013 GMAC Regular Season Champions, sparked momentum for Trevecca to claim the victory and outhit Delta State 10-7.

Amber Adcock and Madison Zoeller led DSU in offense in game two, as they were the sole run producers. Adcock went 2-for-4 at the plate, driving in one run, while Zoeller knocked in three runs with her first hit of the season.

Freshman Macie Wilde had a much better performance in the circle than her first outing. The lefty gave up five runs, two earned, on ten hits in six innings, striking out seven.
