Dalton Moats struck out a career-high 12 batters to lead No. 29 Delta State University (20-9, 13-5 GSC) to a 6-2 win and the series sweep of the University of North Alabama (15-13, 8-10 GSC) on Saturday at Mike Lane Field.
Will Robertson had a double and two RBIs and
Ben Pickard had two hits including a solo home run to lead the Statesmen.

HOW IT HAPPENED (GAME 1)- The Statesmen scored a run in the second and two in the fourth to take a 3-0 lead. Ben Pickard doubled and scored on a Colton Welch single in the second and belted a solo home run to highlight the two-run fourth.
- Three runs crossed the plate for the Green-and-White in the seventh. Erick Santiago and Brandon Cummins started the inning with a single and scored on a Will Robertson single. Robertson scored on a Gill double to make the score 6-0.
- UNA threatened with runners at second and third in the fourth only to see Moats end the threat with a strikeout and a popup
- The Lions avoided the sweep with a two-run ninth. Kevin Hall had an RBI single and another run came home on a throwing error.
- After the two runs scored in the ninth, Moats got two groundouts and a fly out to record the complete game win.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORES- Robertson's two RBIs marked his 10th multi-RBI game this season.
- Gill's double in the sixth was hits 12th of the season, moving the senior into a tie with Trent Giambrone for second.
- Pickard's home run was his seventh, tying Trent Giambrone for the team lead.
- Robertson's ninth inning double was his team-leading 14th on the year.
- Moats won his fourth straight start while striking out a career-high 12.
- Moats improved 5-2 overall and is 4-0 in his last four starts. The Kansas City, Mo., native has struck out at least nine batters in his last four starters.
