DSU earned the No. 5 seed for the double elimination tournament. First pitch is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. CT.

- The Lady Statesmen earned the No. 5 seed for the 2016 GSC Tournament and will match up with No. 4 Alabama Huntsville.
- DSU claimed a series victory over the Chargers at University Field on March 19-20. The Lady Statesmen swept Saturday's doubleheader with 8-0 (5) and 5-1 victories, before dropping the final contest 7-0.

Kaitlin Moore were named First Team All-Gulf South Conference, while
Morgan Kazerooni was named GSC Freshman of the Year. Tally received the third honor of her career, while Moore is just the fourth player in DSU history to be named First Team All-GSC on three or more occasions. Kazerooni is the first Lady Statesman to be named Freshman of the Year since Sam St. Hilaire earned the honor in 2005.

The Lady Statesmen have hit 30 home runs this season, which ranks fourth in the GSC. The total marks the most round-trippers for a DSU team since hitting the same number in 2009.

DSU is 10-6 in contests decided by one run. By comparison, the Lady Statesmen were 6-7 in 2015, and 4-10 in 2014.

With its 33 wins this season, DSU has its highest total since having the same total in 2008, in which it played 59 games. The Lady Statesmen won a program-best 49 games in 2006.

LEADERS OF THE PACK
Kaitlin Moore and
Kassidy Tally entered the week in the top-five among all active NCAA players in two statistical categories, and in five categories among NCAA Division II players. Moore ranks second in all divisions with 68 career two-baggers, while Tally is the active NCAA leader with 228 stolen bases.

Among NCAA Division II players, Tally is fourth in at bats (735), and fifth in runs (187), while Moore is fifth in hits (265). Tally currently leads the nation with 67 steals. Moore is tied for third with 21 total doubles.

Taylor Johnson and
Taylor Tucker have combined for 25 victories in the circle this season. Johnson leads DSU with a 13-7 record, while Tucker is 12-5. This marks the first time since 2006 (Britni Adcox and Randa Blenden) that two pitchers have had 12 or more victories.

The Lady Statesmen are 27-5 when scoring the first run of a game. DSU has outscored opponents 103-54 in the first two innings, compared to a 69-55 deficit in the fourth and fifth.

For the third consecutive week DSU has earned a spot in the NCAA South Region rankings. The Lady Statesmen checked in at No. 9 in the latest poll. Other than the final edition in 2014, this marks the second appearance for DSU in any edition of the NCAA South Region rankings during the tenure of head coach Casey Charles.
