CLEVELAND, Miss. – West Georgia (10-11, 4-8 GSC) belted three-home runs to win the series finale 14-4 over No. 18 Delta State University (14-7, 7-5 GSC) on Monday at Harvey Stadium-Ferriss Field.
Zack Shannon went 4-for-4 with an RBI to lead the Statesmen at the plate.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Zack Shannon led off the second with a double and scored on a Josh Russell ground out to give the Statesmen a 1-0 lead.
- West Georgia took a 3-1 lead in the top of the third on a three-run home run to left by Ben Utley.
- The Statesmen loaded the bases in the fourth with one out only to see two ground outs end the inning.
- Three runs came across in the top of the fifth to extend the Wolves' lead to 6-1. Utley belted a two-run home run and Logan Arnett delivered an RBI single.
- Delta State got a run off a UWG error in the bottom of the sixth to trim the deficit to 6-2.
- The Wolves answered with three runs in the top of the seventh. Ryan Raper had a two-run double and Bradley Felkel single home a run to make the score 9-2.
- Delta State scored two in the bottom of the seventh to make the score 9-4. Brian Lane led off the seventh with a triple and scored Zack Shannon single and Justin Nussbaum single home Clay Casey, who doubled.
- West Georgia added five runs in the top of eighth on a bases loaded walk to increase and a Ryan Raper grand slam to increase the lead to 14-4.
ON THE MOUND
- Seth Birdsong (2-1) gave up three runs on five hits with two strikeouts to take the loss for the Statesmen.
- Greyson McCleod (2-2) gave up three runs, two earned on six hits, with two strikeouts as winning pitcher for UWG.
NOTEABLES
- Delta State left nine runners on base, seven in scoring position, and left the bases loaded twice on the afternoon.
- Shannon finished the day 4-for-4 with a double and an RBI as the only Statesmen with multiple hits. The four hits marked Shannon's sixth multiple hit game this season and extended his reached base streak to 15.
- Russell and Nussbaum collected RBI hits for the Statesmen.
