Battle For The Belt Final Results
HOT SPRINGS, Ark. – Junior
Zach Zediker shot a final round three-under, 69 to claim the Battle For Belt golf tournament at the Hot Springs Country Club's Arlington Course on Tuesday.
Zediker claimed his second straight Battle For The Belt title and his second title this fall, totaling an eight-under, 208 over 54-holes. The Panama City, Fla., native won the Murray State Invitational to open the fall before tying for sixth at the AFLAC Cougar Classic.
Southern Arkansas' Kevin Elder, Henderson State's Nick Shapiro, and Texas at Tyler's Tyler Uhlig tied for second at six-under, 210.
Zach Smith shot even-par, 72 in the final round to for 39th with a four-over, 220 while John Crawford Counts finished with a 12-over 228, tied for 76th.
Colby Evans had a seven-over, 79 as the fourth Statesmen on the afternoon, finishing tied for 96th with 239 while
Wyatt Berry tied for 89th with a 228.
Host Henderson State cruised to the title with a five-under 283 win with a 15-under, 849. Southern Arkansas claimed second after one-under, 287 in the final round for a four-under, 860 tournament total.
Delta State finished the tournament tied for 12th with Harding University with a plus-25, 889. The Statesmen shot 11-over, 299 in the final round at the par 72, 6,713-yard course.
Delta State returns to action hosting the Darrell Foreman Invitational at the Cleveland Country Club on Monday, October 8-9.
