CLEVELAND, Miss. – Hayden White hit three home runs and had five RBIs to lead No. 2/6 Delta State University baseball team (20-7, 12-5 GSC) to a 16-6 run-rule win over No. 12/23 the University of West Florida (21-9, 13-12 GSC) on Sunday at Harvey Stadium-Ferriss Field.
Delta State belted four home runs on the day, three by White and one by
Jake Barlow. White's third home run of the day was a leadoff solo home run to end the game in the seventh due to the NCAA 10-run rule.
The Madison, Miss., native is the first Statesmen to hit three home runs in a game since Devin Goodwin against Pace University on March 9, 2009. Zach Shannon was the last Statesmen with a fiveRBIs day against Southern Arkansas on March 27, 2018.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Statesmen scored three in the first to take a 3-0 lead. David Herrington led off with a single and later scored on a throwing error. Patrick Hodges followed with an RBI single up the middle and Weber Herbison walked with the bases loaded.
- UWF tied the game in the top of the second. Issac Philips, Matthew Estrada and Trevor Payne had RBI singles.
- The Statesmen answered with two runs in the bottom of the second to take a 5-3 lead. Russell drew a one-out walk to set up a Barlow two-run home run.
- Delta State put up six runs in the third to build the lead to 11-5. White led off with a solo home run to center and David Herrington followed with a two-RBI single. A run scored when Barlow reached on an infield single and Hodges drove in two more runs with a single up the middle.
- Matt Sullivan cut the DSU lead to 11-5 with a two-run home run to left in the fourth.
- White stretched the Statesmen lead to 14-5 with a three-run home run in the fifth.
- Sullivan hit a solo home run to left field in the sixth to cut UWF's deficit to 14-6.
- The Statesmen scored a run in the sixth and one in the seventh to end the game. David Herrington was hit by a pitch to start the inning and scored on a Barlow single to center in the sixth and White hit a solo home run to left in the seventh.
ON THE MOUND
- Dalton Minton (5-1) yielded six runs on 10 hits with two strikeouts against three walks to earn the win on the mound.
- UWF starter Tony Rossi (4-3) lasted just two innings, giving up six runs, three earned, on four this with two strikeouts and four walks to take the loss.
- Cole Morgan did not allow a run or a hit in one inning of relief.

- White is the first Statesmen to hit three home runs in a game since Devin Goodwin against Pace University on March 9, 2009.
