CLINTON, Miss.— Seth Hougesen tossed a complete game with six strikeouts to help the No. 13 Delta State University baseball team (33-11, 19-9 GSC) earn a 9-3 win Mississippi College (28-13, 20-5) in the nightcap of a doubleheader on Saturday at Frierson Field.
Hougesen struck out six while allowing three runs on six hits to improve to 7-0.
Hayden White went 3-for-4 with an RBI followed by
Weber Herbison and
Patrick Hodges with two hits.
Jake Barlow added a two-run triple and
Josh Russell belted a solo home run.
Dylan Duplechain hit a two-run walk-off home run to give the Choctaws a 10-8 win in game one.

HOW IT HAPPENED | GM 1
- Four straight hits with two outs led to three runs scoring for the Choctaws in the second. Hunter Sykes's RBI single plated the first run and Grant Barber had a two-run single.
- The Statesmen plated four runs in the fourth to take a 4-3 lead. Darek Sargent singled and Patrick Hodges and Matt Majeur were hit by a pitch to set the tables. Sargent and Hodges scored on a Payton Lane single down the left field line and Majeur came home on a wild pitch.
- Mississippi College answered with two runs to retake the lead, 5-4. Blaine Crim reached on an error and scored on a wild pitch. Billy Cameron also reached on an error and scored on a Brandon Broussard single to right.
- Majeur belted a three-run home run with Barlow and Hodges on base to give the Statesmen a 7-5 lead in the top of the fifth.
- Hunter Sykes singled and scored on a throwing error as Mississippi College cut the deficit to 7-6.
- The Statesmen increased the lead to 8-6 in the eighth. Herbison singled and after stealing second scored on a David Herrington single to left.
- Mississippi College scored four unanswered runs to close the game, tying the game 8-8 on a Broussard two-run double in the eighth. Duplechain belted a two-run, walk-off home run for a 10-8 win in the bottom of the ninth.

- Tyler Walton (2-1) gave up two runs on three hits to take the loss for the Statesmen.
- Dustan Dille (3-1) gave up a run on two hits with five strikeouts in 4.2 innings pitched to pick up the win..
HOW IT HAPPENED | GM 2
- Josh Russell gave the Statesmen a 1-0 lead in the game two with a solo home run in the second.
- The Statesmen stretched the lead to 5-0 in the third. Herrington was hit by a pitch and scored on a Hodges single. Hodges would score on a wild pitched and Barlow reached on an error and scored on a throwing error by the MC catcher. Majeur walked and scored on a Hayden White single.
- Herbison singled and scored on a Barlow sac-fly to center to extend the lead to 6-0 in the fourth.
- MC cut the lead to 6-1 in the fourth when Crim doubled and scored on a Broussard double to left.
- The Choctaws plated two runs to trim to the lead to 6-3 in the fifth. Barber had an RBI double and Billy Cameron followed with an RBI single.
- Delta State responded with a three-run sixth extend the lead to 9-3. Herbison walked and Hodges singled to set up a Barlow two-run triple. Barlow later came home on a wild pitch.

- Weber Herbison was 2-for-4 and Brett Young each went 2-for-4 with an RBI in game one for DSU.
- Majeur's three-run home run in the fifth of game one moved his season total to six.
- Lane finished game one 1-for-4 with two RBIs.
- MC's two runs in the ninth were the first runs allowed by Walton in 26 innings pitched this season.
- Barlow's two-run triple was his GSC leading fifth triple of the season and puts the sophomore one triple away from moving into the top three on DSU's single season triples list.
- Hayden White went 3-for-4 with an RBI followed by Weber Herbison and Patrick Hodges with two hits.
- Barlow added a two-run triple and Russell belted a solo home run in game two.
