BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Delta State University's Dalton Minton was named the Gulf South Conference Baseball Pitcher of the Week released by the League office on Tuesday, April 9, 2019.
 
Minton tossed a complete game shutout in the series-clinching win over Lee University on Sunday. The Horn Lake, Miss., native tied his season-high with eight strikeouts against two walks while scattering six hits over nine innings pitched.
 
Minton has a 6-2 record with a 2.75 ERA, 46 strikeouts, 16 walks in 52.1 innings of work this season. The senior, lefty is tied for second in wins and is eighth in ERA in the GSC statistics.
 
The Statesmen will host the University of West Alabama for a three-game series beginning with a single game on Friday at 6 p.m.  The series will wrap up with a doubleheader on Saturday at 2 p.m.
