TAMPA, Fla. — No. 1 seed University of Tampa (41-14) scored three runs in the 11
th inning to earn a 6-3 win over No. 2 seed Delta State University baseball (42-14) to win the NCAA South Super Regional Regional on Saturday the UT Baseball Stadium.
Tampa pushed the go-ahead run across on a bases-loaded walk followed by a two-RBI single from Drew Ehrhard in the three-run 11
th.
The Statesmen closed the 2019 campaign with a 42-14 overall record, winning their 15th Gulf South Conference Championship and recording the 15
th 40-win season under Head Coach
Mike Kinnison.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Delta State posted two runs in the first inning to take an early 2-0 lead. David Herrington and Hayden White singled to lead off the inning. Herrington advanced to third on White's single and scored on a Darek Sargent sac-fly while White scored when CJ Estave reached on an error.
- The Spartans tied the game 2-2 in the third inning. Stephen Smith reached on an error and later scored on a throwing error. Ehrhard singled and scored on a Danny Sirven single through the left side.
- Patrick Hodges singled and scored on a Josh Russell single to centerfield to give the Statesmen a 3-2 lead in the fourth.
- Tampa tied the game 3-3 in the top of the eighth. Drew Ehrhard singled and scored from first on a Danny Sirven triple down the right field line, DSU starter Dalton Minton struck out two and tossed a strike to first on a bunt squeeze attempt to end the Tampa threat.
- Sargent singled and stole second to put the winning run in scoring position in the tenth inning before a strikeout and a ground out ended the threat.
- Torealba drew a bases-loaded walked and Ehrdard singled to centerfield to score two runs and give the Spartans a 6-3 lead in the top of the 11th.
- The Statesmen went three-up and three down in the bottom of the 11th as UT sealed the win with two strikeouts and a ground out.
ON THE MOUND
- Minton (11-3) struck out nine and allowed three runs, one earned, on nine hits but did not figure in the pitching decision.
- James Reynolds (4-1) came on to record the final out in the 10th to pick up the win in relief.
- TJ Childree, who was taken out of the game with two outs in the 11th due to an injury, was credited with giving up two runs and had two strikeouts as the pitcher of record for the Statesmen.
NOTABLES
- Minton struck out a season nine hitters to surpass his previous season-high of eight done three times previously.
- Russell went 2-for-5 with an RBI to record his seventh multi-hit game of the season.
- White, Sargent, Barlow, Brett Young, Hodges, Herrington and Herbison had a hit apiece for the Statesmen.
- Sargent sac-fly in the first inning tied the junior for first in the GSC with eight.
