28TH DERRALL FOREMAN FINAL RESULTS
CLEVELAND, Miss. -- Landon Cottrell shot a four-under-68 to claim low medalist honors and help the 14th ranked Delta State University men's golf team cruise to the team title at the 28th Derrall Foreman Intercollegiate on Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2020.
Cottrell's 68 helped him finish with a 12-under-204 54-hole total, edging
Jake Kight by one stroke. Kight shot a three-under-69 to finish at 11-under-205. Cottrell, Kight, Mitchell Fifter,
Willie Hammond (Individual) and
Landon Carner all posted top-five finishes for the Statesmen

INSIDE THE SCORECARD
- The Statesmen claimed their fourth straight Derrall Foreman title since the tournament resumed in 2017.
- The Statesmen have had the low medalist in the last six tournaments starting at the 2019 Derrall Foreman.
- Union's Cal Templeton carded the low round of the day and the tournament, carding a 63. Templeton was one stroke off the tournament record shot by Statesmen Chad Cupples in 2014.
- Six of the seven Statesmen that competed in the tournament field finished in the top 10 and were under par for the 54-holes.
- Delta State's 42-under-822 bested the 2019 tournament score of 33-under-831.
- Cottrell and Counts were the top two when it came to the par three holes, playing 2.80 and 2.87 respectively.
- Hammond and Cottrell tied atop the par four scoring a four-under while Kight and Fifer were three and two under.
- Kight led the tournametn with 21 birdies followed by Cottrell with 20.
- Fifter's 39 pars led the tournament field.
