CLEVELAND, Miss. -- Delta State University head cheerleading coach Mary Beth Evans has announced that due to the circumstances surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic, cheerleading tryouts for next year's 2020-2021 squad will be held virtually. 

Tryouts will be held on Wednesday, May 20 via online submission. The application for students to tryout for the squad can be found HERE and should be submitted before May 20. To submit your tryouts videos in each of the categories, click HERE and follow the instructions. Please email the video submissions to mbevans@deltastate.edu.

"We are excited about the upcoming tryouts for next year's cheerleading squad," said Evans. "We are having to do things a little bit differently this year, but we are looking forward to the process and announcing our new cheerleading squad in a couple of weeks."

The review process for tryouts applications and video submissions will take place on May 21, with the 2020-2021 cheerleading squad being announced on May 22 on gostatesmen.com. A Zoom meeting will follow for those selected to the squad.
