Statesmen Golf Ranked 13th In GCAA Pre-Spring Coaches Poll

NORMAN, Okla. -- The Delta State University men's golf team will begin the spring ranked No. 13 according to the Golf Coaches Association of American (GCAA) Pre-Spring Bushnell Golf Week Coaches Poll.

The Statesmen were ranked 25th by the GCAA at the end of fall, but will begin the spring tied for 13th with Sunshine State Conference member Florida Southern with 180 points.

Lee University (No. 4) and West Florida (No. 10) join the Statesmen as Gulf South Conference representatives in the poll while Valdosta State and Christian Brothers also received votes.

The University of South Carolina Aiken tops the poll with 11 first place votes followed by Lincoln Memorial with one first place vote. Barry University, Lee, and Indianapolis round out the top five. Columbus State earns the sixth-place ranking, while Lynn, Findlay, Colorado State Pueblo, and West Florida all earn a spot in the top 10 of the season's opening poll.
