Hurricane Invitational Day One Results
ALBANY, Ga. -- Landon Carner and the Delta State University men's golf team are tied for 10th place after day one of the Hurricane Invitational on Monday, Feb. 22.
Carner shot a one-under, 71 in the first round and a one-over, 73 to sit in a seven-way tie for 10th place overall. The Statesmen opened with an 11-over, 299 before rebounding with a seven-over, 295 in the second round to move up from 12th to 10th as a team.
Jake Kight is in a tie for 29th after shooting a four-over, 148 (75-73), followed by Pongbhop Jamornsrianan with a plus-seven, 151 (T48).
Will Kidder finished the day with a nine-over, 153 (T60), and
Willie Hammond had a plus-11, 155 (T68).
Clayton State leads the team standings with a one-under, 575, followed by Lander University with a plus-one, 577. Montevallo's Paul Murphy fired a five-under, 139 through 36 holes to hold a one-stroke lead heading into Tuesday's final round. Lander's Maxime Legros and Carson Newman's Alex Hodges lurk behind Murphy with a four-under, 140.
