Landon Carner Garners All-GSC Golf Honors

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- Delta State University junior Landon Carner was selected to the men's golf All-Gulf South Conference Second-Team announced by the league office on Tuesday, April 26, 2022.

Carner posted a 71.45 stroke average in 10 events, including low medalist at the Buccaneer Spring Classic on March 7-8 in Tunica, Miss. The Hoover, Ala., native collected six top 10 finishes, including five top-five finishes. 

The University of Memphis transfer carded 18 of his 29 rounds at par or better including 16 rounds under par. Carner had eight rounds in the 60s with a low round of 66 in the Darrell Foreman Invitational.

Lee's Beck Burnette was voted GSC Golfer of the Year, while Union's JJ Zimmer was named the league's Freshman of the Year, and Lee's John Maupin garnered GSC Coach of the Year honors.

In addition to Burnette, the All-GSC First Team also included West Florida's Elias Haavisto, Lee's Connor Pollman and Oliver Lewis-Perkins, West Georgia's Austin Fulton and Zimmer.

Carner is joined on the All-GSC Second Team by UWF's Cameron Bonner, Shorter's Isaac MacNaugton and Lucas Toupin, UWG's Blake Kollin, and Mississippi College's JJ Logue.
