COMPLETE CoSIDA ACADEMIC ALL-DISTRICT BASEBALL TEAMS

CLEVELAND, Miss. -- Delta State University baseball players Jake Barlow, Hayden White, and Blayke Dendy represented the Green and White on the 2022 CoSIDA Academic All-District 5 Baseball team announced on Thursday, May 12, 2022.
 
Barlow, who is a three-time All-GSC and All-American selection, leads the Statesmen with 13 home runs and is tied for the team-high with 50 runs scored and 13 doubles. The Jonesville, La., native is third on the team with 41 RBI and has a team-best .635 slugging percentage. The senior is fifth in the GSC in home runs, fourth in runs scored, and is his .635 slugging percentage ranks sixth. Barlow ranks third in career home runs (45), seventh in career-total bases (401), and sixth in triples (8). Barlow graduated from Delta State with a bachelor's degree in environmental science and a 3.69 GPA and is seeking a second degree in health, physical education, and recreation with a 3.34 GPA. 
 
White played and started in 46 games at first base and has a .314 batting average this season. The Madison, Miss., native has 13 doubles, which are tied with Barlow and Chad Ragland for the team lead and his 48 RBI are second. White earned GSC Player of the Week honors on May 3 and was a 2021 All-GSC selection. White's 49 runs scored are tied for sixth and his 48 RBI are ninth in the GSC. White tallied a 3.75 GPA while earning his degree in biology and has a 4.00 GPA while seeking a master's degree in biology.  
 
Dendy collected a team-high 51 RBI and is second on the team with a .329 batting average. The Yazoo City, Miss., native has slugged 11 doubles, two triples, and nine home runs with three stolen bases. Dendy was named to the 2022 GSC Baseball All-Tournament team after hitting .438 (7-for-16) with two doubles, a home run, and 11 RBI over four tournament games. He also slugged .750 and had a. 471 on base percentage with three runs scored. Dendy is majoring in biology with a 3.45 GPA. 
 
 In the tournament opener, Dendy was 3-for-4 with a double, a grand slam home run, and eight RBI in a 13-0 win over tournament runner-up Shorter University. Dendy was 3-for-5 with a double and two RBI during DSU's 10-6 win over No. 3 seed Montevallo.
 
The 2021-22 Academic All-District® Baseball Team, selected by CoSIDA, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CoSIDA Academic All-America® program separately recognizes baseball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and NAIA.
 
First-team Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second-, and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in June.
 
The CoSIDA Academic All-District® teams are divided into geographic districts across the United States and Canada. 
 
The Division II and III CoSIDA Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CoSIDA with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2021-22 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs. The NAIA CoSIDA Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported by the NAIA national office.
