CLEVELAND, Miss. – The Delta State University Men's Golf Team played a solid third round to bring home an 892 (+28) team score to win the Derrall Foreman Invitational Tuesday afternoon at the Cleveland Country Club. This is the first team title since the Statesmen won the 2024 Music City Invitational.
Delta State had three golfers in the top ten led by sophomore
Ty Werynski, who won the individual title with a 71 (-1) in the third round to bring his three-round total to a 217 (+1).
Freshman
Gonzalo De Minon shot a tournament low 66 (-6) in the third round to jump 26 spots to finish in sixth place with a three-round total of 222 (+6). Fellow Freshman
Hayden Webber shot a 74 (+2) to finish in a three-way tie for seventh place with a score of 223 (+7).
Four Statesmen finished in a six-way tie for 15th.
Evans Haynie shot a 73 (+1),
Cooper Jones shot a 76 (+4),
Peter Blazevic and
Payne Bius shot a 77 (+5).
