WEST POINT, Miss. – The Delta State University men's golf program finished third in the Sam Dunning Invitational at the Mossy Oak Golf Course in West Point this afternoon.
 
The Statesmen as a team, shot a three-round total of 864 which is even par on a par 72 course.
 
In round three, the Statesmen shot 17 birdies on the day, one less than their round one total of 18.
 
Leading the way for the Green and White were the sophomore duo of Gonzalo De Minon and Evans Haynie.
 
De Minon and Haynie both finished the third round in a tie for ninth place, shooting a three-round total of 216 marking themselves even par for the three rounds.
 
Haynie kept consistent throughout the tournament shooting 72 in all three rounds.
 
Linus Utter earned a top 25 finish in his collegiate debut as he shot a three-round total of 220 (+4).
 
The Statesmen are back in action next week as they travel to Saint Leo, Fla., for the NCAA Southeast/South Regional Preview at the Lake Jovita GCC in Dade City, Fla.
