BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Delta State University Men's Golfer Ty Werynski has earned this week's Gulf South Conference Player of the Week Honors announced this morning by the conference office.
 
Werynski, who's ranked 14th in the nation, paced Delta State throughout the Saint Leo Invitational, finishing tied for fourth overall with a three-round score of 207 (-9). He opened with a 69 (-3) in round one and followed with a strong 68 (-4) in the second round to put himself firmly in contention. Werynski closed his tournament with a steady 70 (-2), securing his highest finish of the spring season and one of the top individual performances in the field.
 
So far, Werynski has placed in the top five in every tournament Delta State has competed in during the 2025-26 season.
 
The Statesmen golf team will be back in action in three weeks as they will partake in the First Federal Southeastern Collegiate on Monday March 9, in Valdosta, Ga.
