EVANSVILLE, Ind. — The Delta State University Swim and Dive program continued competition at the
2026 NCAA Division II Swimming & Diving Championships on Wednesday at the
Deaconess Aquatic Center, highlighted by multiple All-America performances and a podium finish from diver
Santiago Santodomingo.
Santodomingo led the way for the Statesmen with a
third-place finish in the 1-meter diving finals, posting a score of
528.75. The performance earned
First Team All-America honors and
16 team points for Delta State.
In the pool, the Lady Statesmen produced several All-America swims during the evening finals.
Zinna Nimander placed
eighth in the 50-yard freestyle, touching the wall in
22.87 to earn
First Team All-America honors and
11 points for Delta State. Teammate
Olivia Murphy followed with an
11th-place finish in 22.94, earning
Second Team All-America honors and adding
six points.
Delta State also scored in the
200-yard medley relay, where
Kaley Davis, Zinna Nimander, Olivia Murphy, and Chloe Skelt combined for a
sixth-place finish in 1:39.92. The relay performance earned
First Team All-America honors and contributed
26 points to the Lady Statesmen total.
In the distance freestyle,
Mateus Franco delivered a strong swim for the Statesmen, finishing
ninth in the 1000-yard freestyle with a time of 9:03.78. The result earned
Second Team All-America honors and
nine points for Delta State.
Chloe Skelt added another scoring performance for the Lady Statesmen with a
15th-place finish in the 200-yard individual medley (2:04.17), earning
Second Team All-America honors and
two team points.
The Statesmen also picked up points in relay competition as the
men's 200-yard medley relay team of Mateus Franco, Jacob Hamblen, Kacper Mochnal and Ethan Baylin finished
14th in 1:28.71, earning
Second Team All-America honors and
six points.
After two days of competition, the
Lady Statesmen sit tied for ninth place with 53 points, while the
Statesmen are 14th with 31 points in the team standings.
The
NCAA Division II Swimming & Diving Championships continue through Saturday at the Deaconess Aquatic Center.
